Music

Director of Music: Thomas Belew

Central Presbyterian has a rich history of music ministry.  In the 1880s we acquired the first pipe organ   in this area of the Red River Valley.  Our mission in music is based on this tradition:

  • We minister in music to members in our church.
  • We minister in music reaching out to our community.
  • We, as individuals, participate in our local musical community.
  • We minister by inviting musical groups and individuals to present music in our church for the enjoyment of our community.

The Sanctuary Choir is open to anyone from high-school age up and sings a variety of music from the classics to spirituals and contemporary music.  Rehearsals during the school year take place every Wednesday from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.  Everyone who can match pitch and sing a melody line is welcome.

During the summer, the choir meets for a short rehearsal on Sunday mornings, then sings an easy anthem.
